Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Love: when you eat the pancakes with few chips, saving the very chocolatey chippy ones for your children.
Even though you are eating them without butter, because these things are caloric enough without adding butter to the equation. And you were up until 3 am with a child who couldn’t sleep and isn’t yet verbal, to tell you what is her issue.
Never mind the weak coffee you made, or the odd flavor of unbuttered pumpkin pancakes, or the headache you’ve been sporting for a full 24 hours now, or your own crankiness at curbing your formerly unchecked appetite for sweets for three whole days now. Never mind all that. Your children’s happiness is what’s most important, and your overwhelming love for them has you choosing the less chocolatey pancakes, so they can enjoy the full deliciousness of breakfast.
That, or you just don’t want to hear the crying about an insufficient level of chocolate in the pancakes. One of the two. It’s probably the love thing, though.
