Snubbed

Published January 5, 2013 by clanofthesleepingbear

I was snubbed by my baby today. Not just once or twice, but so many times I stopped counting (or, it was hard to count through the tears…).
She woke up from her nap and was rescued from her crib by Daddy. He brings her down to the playroom, puts her on the floor, and I call her over. She toddles in my direction, then moves right past me to get to her sister. I ask for a kiss and she turns her head. I say, “I don’t get a kiss?” which she answers with a shake of her head. Nope. No kiss for you!
The rest of the afternoon and night was pretty much the same. My darling husband asked for – and received – several kisses, including a good-night kiss. All I got were cheeks. Not even offered cheeks, for planting kisses. Just the kind you get when the other person is dodging your kisses.
Apparently she’s angry with me. Didn’t her mother teach her to never go to bed mad? Oh, wait…crap.
